The woody grey-brown stems bear ovate fleshy succulent blue-green leaves whose margins are very finely toothed or not at all. The inflorescence is a short spike of pale-blue boat-shaped flowers.
Easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil in full sun to part shade. Tolerates a wide range of soils except heavy, poorly drained ones. Prefers rich, moist soils with light to moderate shade.
